The Movies

As with The Book List, I spent quite a bit of time looking through various lists of the best movies before deciding which list to go by. It ultimately came down to The AFI's 100 Years, 100 Movies and the IMDB Top 250. I chose the IMDB list since it is mostly rated by users rather than film critics. I generally don't agree with film critics as I think they're too snobby, so I went with the IMDB list and chose the Top 100 off their 250. I may, at some point, decide to watch all 250, but I don't want to be too ambitious right now! And as with The Book List, I'll try and provide reviews as I watch the movies.

*Disclaimer: In January 2012, I decided to amend this list to read 50 of the Top 100. Why? Well, because I've kind of hated most of the movies I've watched off this list.

  1. I loved reading through this list. I haven't seen many of these. Of the movies you haven't seen yet, I would recommend Casablanca, Gladiator, and The Green Mile.
